Another great week in the Grummick Threes classroom!
This week we focused on the strategies we can use if we get stuck during our reading. We looked at 8 different strategies. These can be found on the book mark sent home with the home reading letter. When reading at home, please continue to ask your child if they need 'time' or ' coaching' if they get stuck on an unfamiliar word.
In our writing time, we are focusing on expanding our sentences to create pieces that are more interesting for our readers. We will be showcasing this writing during meet the teacher on Thursday evening.
We continued to work on mastering our patterning skills. We will complete this work next week with increasing and decreasing patterns.
This morning we met our buddies! We will be working with Mrs. DeiCont and Mrs. McIntosh's grade 1 classes. We completed our fist project in our visual journals using our handprints. Please ask you child what we did. We cannot wait to continue working with our buddies throughout the year.
This afternoon we went outside to collect some leaves for an art project, if you are outside this weekend, please keep an eye out for more leaves. We need leaves of different sizes, shapes and colors. Please dry any leaves before bring them to school.
Next week we are working with the Discover Archeology on Tuesday.
